Cesc Fabregas reckons Arsenal’s Barclays Premier League rivals are under more pressure to win the title.

The Arsenal skipper watched his side throw away a two goal lead on Sunday and allow West Ham United to fight back to draw 2-2 in the last 15 minutes.

Despite gaining just a point from the match, Arsenal moved up to third place ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and have a fixture in hand over Manchester United and leaders Chelsea.

“Of course we are under pressure to win the title because Arsenal is a big club and expectations are always high,” he said. “But the other challengers have spent huge amounts of money in recent years to build their squads and perhaps they are the ones who are under the most pressure because of this investment.

“Nothing is ever impossible. We are not the favourites this season, but we truly believe we can we can fight for the championship. This team is maturing and growing in confidence all the time.”

Manager Arsene Wenger knows the Gunners cannot allow any more lapses in concentration if they are to be in contenders for the championship.

But with Arsenal’s rivals spending large amounts in the transfer market in recent times, Fabregas is happy for the Gunners to keep picking up points while staying out of the spotlight.
